POWDERED PLAIN BOUILLON

This powdered bouillon is economical, easy to throw together, and convenient to keep on hand. Most of all, it is incredibly flavorful and works well anytime a recipe calls for this staple ingredient.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup NUTRITIONAL YEAST FLAKES

  • 1 Tablespoon SALT

  • 1 Tablespoon ONION POWDER

  • 2 teaspoons GARLIC POWDER

  • 1 teaspoon DRIED THYME

  • 1 teaspoon PAPRIKA

  • 1/4 teaspoon TURMERIC

  • 1/8 teaspoon BLACK PEPPER

  • 1 Tablespoon SUGAR

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

  2. 1 Tablespoon of mix for every cup of water (+/- = stronger/weaker)

  3. Use in any recipe that calls for bouillon.


NOTES/VARIATIONS

  • This recipe will double comfortably.

  • I use this most often in my Healthy Onion Soup Mix recipe where it calls for powdered bouillon.

  • Experiment with ratios and omit or add other herbs to your liking.

  • As articulated in the What’s for Dinner article, always aim for the highest quality ingredients.
